FNM. I likes it. I likes it lots.

Um.

We might see more people when we start doing Shadowmoor drafts. And that'll be fun (not knowing how to draft it)!

Reminds me, May's FNM card is...

First (I think) Standard-legal FNM card!

I will not be sad to see Tendrils of Agony go away.

I think I prefer the old picture. I imagine losing this in a pile of forests because the picture is generic.

Hello, New here, just wanted to ask a few questions about FNM at Gamers gambit before I actually attempt to participate

Quote:
Sanctioned Friday Night Magic: Booster drafts every Friday at 7PM (STARTS PROMPTLY--PLEASE SIGN UP BEFORE 7PM). Prizes are awarded. Entry fee is $15 (cash), and includes 3 booster packs.

What can play do we do? multiplayer tournament? draft tournament? teams?, etc...
Do we bring our own custom made decks? if so should they be constructed/limited/classic?
and finally can someone explain
Quote:
Booster drafts every Friday at 7PM
or is this referring to
Quote:
Entry fee is $15 (cash), and includes 3 booster packs.
?

Thanks!
[i know some stuff cuz of MTGO3]

At FNM, we draft and build decks for draft tournament all that night. There are prizes if you have 2 wins in the 3 round tournament. The entry fee includes 3 packs and those are the packs that you draft with.

You do not need to bring your own cards for this event. You play with the cards you pick and the lands are provided.

Man, they were doing so well this year too. The art looks hot at least.

Hey, hopefully I will be making my FNM debut this Friday. Just had a few questions:
Generally when is everything finished by?
What set(s) are the boosters from?
Do players keep their picked rares or do players pool rares afterwards and pick based on success?

Thanks a lot.

1) Since the thing gets started at about 7:00-7:30, we usually end at about 11:00ish. May be a little longer or shorter since it really depends if people go to time every round or not.

2) Currently, the booster drafts at the Gamer's Gambit consist of Shadowmoor only, the latest/most recent M:tG set.

3) Players get to keep what they draft. There is a prize structure that hands out prize dependent on your win-loss-draw record after 3 rounds of swiss. 3 wins equals 4 packs. 2 wins and a draw equals 3 packs. 2 wins and a loss equals 2 packs. Nothing below 2 wins awards any prize. There is also the FNM promo card that is given out to the top two players record-wise and two randomly at the end of the tournament.
